G L: WASTE OF MONEY

WASTE OF MONEY,  IF YOU LIVE IN SOUTHERN OREGON... I GUESS IT IS MUCH EASIER IN THE STATE OF PORTLAND.  Paid you $50.00, Mediator ruled in my favor, but have to travel 3+ TIMES 150 MILES RT just to file in small claims. Only the STATE OF PORTLAND gets help, not us old people in SOUTHERN OREGON.  Don't waste your time unless you are in SALEM OR PORTLAND.  You lose SOUTHERN COAST!  Did the mediator have a good time visiting ? NO ENFORCEMENT WHATSOEVER... WHY IS THERE A BOARD IN THE 1ST PLACE? JUST TO TAKE TAX AND ANY DIME YOU HAVE... make sure you read all one ☆'s, so TRUE!

dqj1968: what happens when we make mistakes

The people on the phone are helpful but don't bother with the CCB mediation. Save your $50.00 and pay a bit more to go to small claims court because a "mediation" feels just like Judge Wapner's courtroom anyway...nothing you say really counts and you have to prove everything but the contractor doesn't.

The mediator I got was all for protecting the business, especially since this particular business had an "excellent reputation" with the CCB. Hey, "mistakes happen, we all make mistakes, you make mistakes, I make mistakes"  just like my mediator said...followed by "what happens when we make mistakes? We apologize and fix it".  Um, ok? Except when it is affecting a job they did....they need to fix it THE RIGHT WAY, not just put a Snoopy Band-Aid on it for crying out loud.

Oh, and just for the record, even if you have a glaring, in-your-face, obvious problem---like soft grout (um, anyone with half a brain could tell you that you need to tear that up and redo it-MR. MEDIATOR)! But, no. Mr. Mediator asked if the sub could "put sealer on it". I assumed if I called the "contractors board", that they would know something about BASIC FLOOR INSTALLATION. Hello! Am I being punked here?

One last tidbit....make sure you get every item listed  (IN DETAIL) that a contractor promises you they will do (you might even want to have them write down what time they will take lunch and a  dump too). Don't just assume because the contractor is nice and friendly and tells you verbally they will do something that they will fess up to it later. Two thumbs down to the CCB!

Cindy Faber: Total waste of time and money.

Total waste of time and money. The mediator separated us after 30 seconds. He was annoyed talking to me. He was laughing and had a great conversation with the construction company that screwed up my roof. The CCB paper work hurt my case. It would of been better for me to sue and then go to the CCB to get money from there bond.

Cory Bjerke: The staff is rude and downright mean

The staff is rude and downright mean. They have been more harmful than helpful.  The CCB is not beneficial for contractors or consumers.  They simply generate revenue for big government.
